Anthony Grégoire is a PhD candidate in Anthropology at the Université de Montréal, and in Ethnomusicology at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), Paris. His research focuses on the influence of musical symbols and practices of Catholic missionaries in Senegal and the appropriation of Occidental musical practices by the Serer-Noon, an animist context.
