Alex Golub is an associate professor of anthropology at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. His research focuses on the political anthropology of mining. His book Leviathans at the Gold Mine about the Porgera gold mine in Papua New Guinea was published by Duke University Press in 2014. He is also one of the founders of the well-known anthropology blog Savage Minds.
