In 2021, we will continue to grow and improve our accessibility initiatives. The accessibility work we are doing at AAA and as anthropologists continues to spread within and beyond our profession, and there’s lots more to come this year.
#AccessibleAnthro
This summer we marked the thirtieth anniversary of the ADA by asking disabled AAA members three questions about the ADA and anthropology.
We are presented with an opportunity to make virtual spaces more accessible, which means more disabled people will be able to actively be present.
On March 9, the American Anthropological Association hosted a successful #AccessibleAnthChat on Twitter, focusing on the issue of fieldwork accessibility.
We enter 2020 celebrating 30 years of accomplishments and barrier breaking supported by the ADA, while also knowing that there is still much to do to ensure that disabled people may participate in and belong to all aspects of our society.
You're getting ready for the Annual Meeting! Great! Do you ever wonder about who goes and who doesn't go? And why?
