Aina Backman is a doctoral candidate in social anthropology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU. Her master’s thesis in anthropology presented at Stockholm University, explores affective atmospheres in courtroom procedures at the Court of Criminal Justice in Vienna. Her current research project continues the interest by exploring work life at Swedish immigration detention centres through the optic of technology. Among her interests are work life, philosophy of science and the history of science.
